Feedback from one of our Student Counsellors' (abridged) 2019
"It has been a privilege to work in this placement....I met counselling professionals here who are informed, compassionate, and above all real. It has been a blessing to be among colleagues who will call things as they see them whilst recognising the complexity of the issue. I am genuine when I say I have come to respect and value the openness in Levin (clients), because with that openness comes greater likelihood of honesty. I have seen numerous clients engage in honest and sometimes brutal self-examination that has required genuine courage - in ways I seldom see in city folk.
This placement has done more for my growth in both professional and personal empathy than I would have believed possible. Seriously. It has grown my appreciation for the complexities and routine amounts of pain so many people carry in the day-to-day lives. Without a doubt this placement has contributed to some of my finest and most valued learnings during my time studying counselling.

Why Counselling?
When people experience distress or difficulties in their lives many like to talk through their experiences with trained professionals. Some people do this to understand more fully what led to the current problems, learn new skills and increase positive emotions. Others find having a forum to express their thoughts in a non-judgmental context, while gaining some feedback or insight, the most important part.
Counselling can help you discover meaning, options, resolution, hope, purpose, understanding and solutions.
